AFFORD TO BE MUTE SPECTATOR ON SYRIA ?

India wish to be playing its part
in Global affairs keeping in view the wishes of large majority of Indians; a
security council seat with big five has been coveted goal and the position of UN
Secretary General. But, all these not possible without taking initiative when
in close neighborhood genocide takes place; where close to 40,000 innocent people massacred and millions
migrate and millions turn homeless in own country in Syria. What Indian Govt. /People
have done till date to resolve the conflict and to minimize sufferings of
innocent people? India
was and would continue to be hold in high esteem in World over due to
Non-Alignment Movement and therefore the trust and impartiality.
This is a golden opportunity for India
to start an International Mediation process when the two attempts of UN driven
efforts have failed. Following Idea may kindly be examined:
1. India
should send a High Level delegation under the leadership of former Dy. Prime
Minister, Sri L.K.Advani/ former PM Sri I.K.Gujural with Indian, Pakistan
and Bangladesh Foreign Minister to Iran
to have preliminary fact finding mission.
2. The leader of the delegation with his tem should then
decide if to proceed to start negotiation with Syrian President and opposition
to have a negotiated settlement.
3. Time is right as long drawn fight has made both sides
looking for an exit route.
4. Success or failure the mission would give tremendous
Global advantage to Indian Foreign Policy.
5. Can this Idea be considered urgently by the MEA
& PMO?
