Indian Music & Movies as Foreign Policy tool

Bikash Choudhury

As of now leading Global Powers have used their superior fire power and financial muscle to influence the foreign policy of other countries to their own advantage. However, in current times India could use its own ‘fire power’ in music & movies to influence large number of people of targeted countries and create a ‘soft power’ in favor of India.

Union Govt. could create a separate fund worth of Rs. 1000 crore for ICCR, which can be supplemented by donation of private sector and individuals.

ICCR would use this fund exclusively to deploy Indian music and movies to promote Indian Foreign Policy by creating fascination about India.

ICCR could start a ‘World Class Music Band- Band India’ that would organize all the top Music Directors, Composers, Singers and Lyricist to create a unique class of music for the target audience in South Asia/Asia/America/Europe after careful research. And, Band India would perform across the World to win friends and influence people-try to sweep them out of their feet and create a mania for Indian Music-Michel Jackson type.

Identically, ICCR could also do the same for producing movies for Asian & Western audiences in collaboration with Indian Film Producer Association.
