FORUM FOR POLITICAL UNITY OF INDIA

Esteemed Shri Salman Khursid,

Keeping in view of the changes in the Geo-Politics of Asia, Growing Sectarian Violence in our neighborhood, Racial discrimination and its reaction in Western Countries and Growing Religious Intolerance across the World; beg India to take some initiative to find a durable and sustainable solution.

Economy is just a subset of the Society; however, “The World Economic Forum” has been popular across the World; though, it could not find any solution for the Global recession. But, ‘Global Social Forum’ could actually find an answer to current Global Economic Crisis and lasting solution for peace and prosperity of the World.  

1. Ministry of External Affairs, GoI in its out reach program could explore the possibility of starting an organization (not for profit) named as “Global Social Forum” in association with Leading Social Organization, State Governments, CII and FICCI with an objective to end civilization conflict, promote Global Peace through disarmament & cut in defense expenditure, Religious harmony, racial unity and eventually control Global Economic Recession.
2. “Global Social Forum” could hold its International Summit in New Delhi or Bangalore every year during the month of December just like “World Economic Forum’ at Davos.
3.  Global Social Forum could deliberate on social issues of Global Concern and draw a road map to enhance religious understanding and to create global family across race, religion & region.
4. Global Social Forum can rope in US Govt., United Nations, World Economic Forum and 1000 nos of top social organizations to partner in this mission.
5. This initiative could put India in the hearts and minds of Global Citizens which could have deeper economic and political ramifications in the long run. 

Hope, this proposal would be examined by GoI soon.

COMMUNICATION WITH CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER OF AZIM PREMJI FOUNDATION

Dear Mr. Giridhar,

I read your article in TNIE with interest; while respecting your view point, I have following comments to make on the subject.

1. Azim Premji Foundation and University and its work in education sector are Innovative from start and a case of path breaking Leadership; as Azim Premji forms a minuscule part of Corporate Leaders who chose a domain like Education and tried to contribute his wealth and Management Depth and Organizational capabilities for a National Cause. This I Consider INNOVATION AND LEADERSHIP

2. US President said in our Parliament and we also observe and understand that India is a creative Nation--- And, there is a huge potential for Innovation & Leadership in each domain of Human endeavor as it is proved by Indians in many Western Countries.

3. India has already wasted 65 years after Independence and therefore Need Urgently Institutions that would Promote Innovation & Leadership from the start.

4. There are a few areas which need Immediate and Urgent Intervention through Innovation and Innovative Leadership; and, that could happen if a few more Corporate Leaders follow in the path of Azim Premji and open their portion of their wealth, management capabilities and organization to make a difference to this Nation.

a. Technology and Management of Solid Waste Disposals in Indian Cities

b. Conservation and Management of Fresh Water and Sources

C.Technology for Low cost Roads of Global Standards

d. Technology for Fuel Efficient Aircraft, Railways and Road Transport

E.Low cost Technology for Food Grain Storage in Rural Areas

5. In my Opinion if Top 500 Corporate in India encourage and support their Employees for Innovation & Entrepreneurship inside their organization then we may not have to wait long to reap the benefit of Innovation & Leadership as a Nation.

Nilamadhaba Mohapatra , a tea and cigarette vendor in Ashok Nagar Bhubaneswar met with an accident while crossing the road in front of Bata showroom and suffered Collar bone dislocation. He moved from Hospital to Hospital for good treatment for his ailment and spent huge sums of money by his standard and still did not get appropriate treatment and eventually; he knocked the door of a Desi Orthopedic located at “Mandirabeni” near Bhapur in Khandapada area. Their diagnosis is as simple as their Ayurvedic based medicine. First of all they go through the patient’s injury with their trained hands and figure out fracture/dislocation if any; and then they try to bring the damaged bones to original position and then they apply liberal amount of herbal oil in those injury with a traditional Bandage. They also prescribe and supply ayurvedic capsules for the patients to augment the healing process. In a gap of one or two weeks, patients are advised to revisit and depending on the requirement go for a fresh bandage and thereafter some heat treatment is given in that injured area to augment calcium formation. In this method, the patients return to normal life in 3-5 weeks time and saves poor people from expensive Hospitalization and complicated invasive surgery. Not only Mandirabeni but, there are other localities like Kalupada Ghat and Koleila that offer such simple but effective Orthopedic treatment at very low cost which needs to be brought in the State Map for Medical Tourism.

India Incl. Missing a Big Business Opportunity

Interview with friends and family who migrated to western countries have of the opinion that apart from better career prospects they chose to pitch their tents in developed countries due to the better City life and City Infrastructure. Not only in India, but all across South Asia, Cities are crumbling under population pressure due to the onslaught of migration from rural areas and also due to lack of optimum public or private investment and non deployment of technology in City Infrastructure. The toil and tribulations of a Mumbaites is equally shared by people living in Karachi and Dhaka; if not more. This is a huge and big business opportunity that India Incl. can’t afford to miss. I live in a small city like Bhubaneswar and wish to live in garbage free city with spotless roads and with smooth traffic flow in and around the city with designated parking place and planned vending zones in all business and residential districts; and, am ready to pay little more in city taxes and same holds good for the residents of all cities in South Asia. A few top India Incl. with deep pocket can apply their mind and persuade GoI and State Govt. to make enabling policies for outsourcing the “City Management” services to the private sector; even, private sector could become the implementing agency for State Govt. & GoI programs in a transparent mechanism drawn for the purpose. With domestic experience in City Management Services, Indian Incl. could also export such services and expertise in South Asia and beyond for a fast buck while enhancing the soft power of India.

ANTI INCUMBENCY FOR REAL

Congress Party must be very happy to receive a land slide victory in Karnataka. However, in the same logic it should be prepared for a land slide drubbing in the next National Parliamentary Election. And, BJP may get the entire benefits of UPA’s anti-incumbency; if, the proposed Third Front did not take off with an alternative and a new model for faster Development; keeping in view of the aspirations of Young People. Third Front should come out with a vision in which it should also include a plan to make Bureaucracy-the engine of Indian growth story.

A TRIBUTE TO KHULANA BADA MAA

  “Khulana Bada Maa” was the darling of our joint family at Gokhapada in Kendrapada District of Odisha. She was illiterate but possessed extraordinary intelligence, ready wit and humor. She hails from a decent Zamindar family of Kendrapada and married at an early age to Gangadhar Choudhury(elder brother of my father) one of the prominent Zamindars of Dasamauji Area of Mahakalapada Block. Even today villagers recognize us in 10-20 K.M radius through his name (apparently that proves Indian’s feudalistic mindset). Our family lost the trapping of wealth and power during the ‘Bhudan’ movement; but, some villagers by default show deference to members of our joint family even today. Adulation of ordinary people gives a ‘High’ feeling though that has got nothing to do with your contribution to society.

Khulana Bada Maa was the chief manager of our ancestral home made of wood and mud with a high attic (modern false ceiling). She was a short and lean lady but workaholic to a fault. Her responsibility was to maintain the entire house and feed a brood of 24 children of the joint family. She was always remembered for her Love and Compassion for all and more particularly for we the children of that time. She had a photographic memory which registers who likes what and she serves food in such a manner to all, that every body goes back happy with limited resources at her command; she used to do this for years without complain and meticulously managed the household impeccably which touched many of us; who received her love and affection in equal measure and never seen she being partial to her 7 children. She passed away on 4^th of May 2013 at 9 P.M after brief illness; the image of her serving food with graciousness in the dinning area of our ancestral home flashes in the mind. She is no more but her life, her work and her love and compassion for us would stay in our mind for a long long time. 

TIME TO TEACH CHINA A LESSON

Chacha Nehru passed away a broken man; courtesy Chinese aggression of 1962. Nehru Ji personally invested so much on ‘Panchaseel’ and on Non-alignment foreign policy of India and yet China did strike India hard as it was least prepared for a military confrontation in the northern reaches of Himalayas then and not well prepared even now. Our gentle man Prime Minister says “we can resolve the current dead lock in Ladakh through dialogue and we have a plan”. May be PM is right now; but, can he buy an insurance against future aggression from China? China is playing geo-politics in the region for a long term and it can not be contained by appeasement or sweet talk. Their intention is very clear now and they consider India as a threat to their future hegemony in Asia and beyond. India can’t afford to seat complacently any further. Die is already cast and apparently China would make an attempt once again to strike India in 2-3 yrs time to bruise its Global standing and capture some territories like Arunanchal Pradesh which it claims as its own. India has very little option now than the policy of ‘offence is best defense’. Indians have to move quickly and get an International Coalition in place comprising of Japan and South Korea to give the Dragon Country a run for its money by suitably targeting its economic sectors and defense establishments in the costal belt; while preparing for a medium term trade embargo on all its goods and services to choke its economic advantages. But, simultaneously India has to strangulate China by actively promoting pro democracy movements inside the country while drawing Global attention to its track records on Liberty and Free Press. Hard nosed Chinese Communist Party bosses could be tempted to repeat the “Tiananmen Square” incident once again which might subsequently become the death knell in the coffins of last communist bastion. And as a result of which we can once again have “Tibet” as the neutral buffer State between India and China. Sooner India takes a call on this it would be better for its security and territorial integrity. Indian Foreign Minister must now cancel his trip to China and also communicate its unwillingness to host any dignitaries from China till such time the border dispute is   resolved.
