# 330 Strategy

(3 Years of Preparation and 30 years of Governance)

Bikash Choudhury

Background:
Indian students mercilessly killed in Australia, Humiliated in USA with a Radio Tag as we do for wild animal census, Indian Fishermen being gunned down in high seas, Indian dignitaries being frisked at US airports and Indian citizens being given stapled visas by China. All this confirms that Brand India has no value globally;although, we protest and claim to have a five thousand old civilization with epics Ramayana & Mahabharat & four Vedas to our credit while our National Capital almost turned into unhygeinic garbage dump and other cities no better. Foreigners who come to visit India carry an impression of a filthy country which creates a perception of a poor and weak country which we can't grudge.

How to turn the table?:

* Top Down & Bottom up Strategy- Push efficient & effective governance to the last man on the street(Top Down) and Inspire, collaborate with bottom of pyramid to lift them to main stream faster(Bottom Up).
* Create a collective mindset of Innovation-Excellence-Enterprise in all walks of life- Adopt cleanliness, a drive for cleanliness mindset of people, help maintain clean home, office, road, airport, railway line, public & private toilets resulting in a clean external dimension of our country that would create a powerful Brand India.
* Nurture strong belief in status of India in history, its past achievements and strong culture and spiritual foundation.

Currently India is suffering from very poor, weak and unimaginative "LEADERSHIP" both in Govt. and in Opposition. Govt. is strapped with scams after scams and opposition is completely obsessed with corruption as if there is no other issue that warrant attention;while we see people living on the streets in a very deplorable conditions. What is our leadership doing about this?

I suggest, let the leadership adopt 'Cleanliness' as a tool to achieve a collective mindset of innovation-excellence-enterprise in all walks of life that could solve many of our problems. Secondly, fix the Agriculture that suffers both ways;excess production punished by the market and low production is frowned upon. Let the leadership and the workers help farmers organize themselves in private Co-Operatives and go for contract farming in collaboration with Industry. The process of Organizing farmers in Co-Operatives is very important and would have many benefits.

UNITED INDIA DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC

Bikash Choudhury

Apropos 'Letting Pakistan of the hook'Pioneer 17th Feb.While I entirely agree with Sri G. Parthasarathy on not diluting Indian stand on Siachin & action against 26/11 mastermind; but, don't see any reason to fault the impetus shown by our foreign office in resuming constructive and creative dialogue with Pakistan on all issues starting from softer to complex items in the agenda which is already very long due to complex interplay of geopolitics and competing interest of global forces. Can we afford to remain hostage to 26/11 in view of ever changing geopolitics of the region? There is no easy solution to vexed India-Pakistan relations and without constructive and continuous talks by either side how can we at least normalize the relationship with our nuclear armed neighbor. Actually, India should continue to pursue Pakistan in sovereign national interest. I am sure Pakistani army & polity would get tired of their own hard line positions soon and join India for mutual benefit of their respective economy and people. May be, after another six decades United Indian Democratic Republic would be a reality.God willing there will be one Army, one currency and one foreign policy.

IMPROVE LIVES OF RICH & FAMOUS

Bikash Choudhury

All rich persons are famous but not vice-verse. If some one poses a question "how to improve the quality of life of rich &famous?" then, certainly the questioner and the question would be dismissed as absurd. As the subject of quality of life of poor and underprivileged hogs the limelight in print & electronic media and also a very pertinent subject of seminar in five star hotel banquet; where so called 'Jholabalas' would normally strain their vocal curd with relevant argument. How about a seminar on the quality of life of rich & famous? Not the first sign of madness. As it i made out-the rich and famous live a high quality of life; not always true. Yes, rich & famous cater to their materialistic and not-so moral needs a plenty. They invariably leave out the top quadrant in their hierarchy of needs as purported by"Abraham Maslows's hierarchy of needs theory" due to paucity of time, lack of focus on self and owing to their busy schedules to keep their riches & fame in tact. Consequently, they loose personal drive to do some thing about their altruistic needs; which very often make their lives dull and boring owing to dearth of true excitement and real happiness inside, in their lives. Hindu scriptures and all modern day gurus advise to donate one fifth of their wealth for noble cause to earn true happiness. But, practically speaking, you can't make rich people happier by persuading them to donate wealth, which they have created by seer hard work and sweat of their brows. Honestly, there should be a middle path, which should be able to create excitement, unadulterated happiness and at the same time be able to grow their wealth with a decent ROI.
What is that rich & famous would need apart from growing their wealth? They would certainly vouch for clean and green environment to live, for themselves and their extended family, world class road to drive their prized possessions-BMW seven series, brand new Mercedes, Ferrari's and all, well maintained water fonts to race their boats, world class schools and universities where their children can go while living at home etc. Govt. of India can develop a business model wherein all rich people /corporate can fund one tenth of their annual income & wealth for maintaining clean cities, making good world class roads, preserving all rivers & sea fonts, developing world class educational institutions for at least a decade or so. Once it is done, the economic activity so created would help redistribute wealth among people at bottom of pyramid which in turn create robust fresh demand for goods and services; the benefits and profits of sizable proportion would go to the coffers of rich and famous; while creating very 'contagious happiness' all around. Sooner we travel this road the richer this country would become.
